Tiny Kitten Teeth is a hand painted online comic that currently updates a couple times a week (sorry!)
The comic follows the slice-of-life adventures of Mewsli, a fish out of water in Owltown, a compact metropolis built around a particularly affluent arts college.
Every week we take a break from the story and go visit our friend Tigerbuttah, a little tiger who doesn’t know much about life yet.
If you are a new reader, we advise starting at the beginning.
About The Creators
Becky and I (Frank) have been making comics together for 5 years. The main fellow in the comic, Mewsli, shares a name with our actual one-year old cat. We have been living together in New Zealand for over a year.
Our other published work includes anthology contributions to Popgun Vol. 3 & 4 (Image Comics), You Ain’t No Dancer Vol. 3 (New Reliable Press) and Discovered (Top Shelf).
Becky is a graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design in Sequential Art and I am a graduate from Griffith University in Media Communications (whatever that entails, I am unsure).
Influences On Art
Kitty Bobo, Dream Pets, Animal Crossing, Mary Blair and other fine Golden Books. We also really love the contemporary cartoons Flapjack and Chowder!
Influences On Writing
This comic is steeped in Wodehouse and features sprinklings of Salinger. I also adore Moomin and the short-lived prime-time cartoon Mission Hill. Achewood, Octopus Pie and Nedroid are fine online comics that continue to influence and delight me.
Becky and I work side by side almost all day. We generally pass the time by listening to music. We share a love for vintage bands such as DEVO, The Beatles and The B-52s, but most of the time we are working quite late. That is when music becomes our audible caffeine and French electro and indie pop/rock comes out of the wood-work, such as Danger, DatA, Passion Pit, Justice and Phoenix.
