At band practice today, my friend Jony and I were discussing the minutiae of life, when we realised the film he is in will be coming out today! Jony was an extra in Underworld 3, the one where they replace the attractive (?) British (?) lady with her doppleganger. Underworld 3 was shot in New Zealand, much like other fine pieces of cinema such as Without A Paddle, for budgetary reasons. Bill Nighy, known to many as Davy Jones, is still in there and that is all that matters. We will be spending our Friday night with lager and some B-grade movie radness.
Here is some music that you all known from reading about on Pitchfork that you should totally check out: The Pain of Being Pure at Heart (terrible name, kinda like My Bloody Valentine), Bubblegum Lemonade (the same, but more fun), the new album from Phoenix (they are actually from France) and the new one from Art Brut. After downloading nothing but garbage yesterday, these came as a pleasant surprise. Definite must buys, people.
